The Respiratory and Oncology units at University Hospital Ayr (UHA) have received a generous donation of £1,500 from Freemasons in Ayrshire.
Members of Lodge Tarbolton (Kilwinning) No.135 wanted to express their appreciation to the wards that had treated a number of friends, family and members.
Members of the Lodge were given challenges to carry out which were sponsored by other Lodge members. This raised the sum of £800.
The Provincial Grand Lodge of Ayrshire donated a further £700 from the Provincial Grand Master’s Charity Fund.
William Steel, Provincial Grand Master said: “The Respiratory and Oncology wards at Ayr have looked after a number of people close to the Lodge and we wanted to show how grateful we are for the high standard of care they all received.”
Senior Staff Nurse Wendy Ruiz De Pascal from the Oncology department said: “We’d like to say a huge thanks to the Lodge members, their donation will be greatly appreciated by the staff and patients who will benefit from it.”
