A NUMBER plate and a police officer's hat were among items stolen from cops in Glasgow during the last two years. 

Crooks have made-off with a number of Police Scotland possessions from stations and cars in the city. 

Perspex shields and sat navs have also been taken by robbers in the Greater Glasgow division since the start of 2018. 

The data was released to the Glasgow Times following a Freedom of Information (FOI) request and reveals daring thieves also nabbed a sum of cash.

Cops have promised they take the theft of police property "very seriously" and say an arrest was made following the robbery of the sat navs. 

A teenager was also given a warning by cops after he ran off in the street with an officer's hat. 

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We take thefts of police property and theft from police property very seriously.

"Officers investigate these incidents as they would any crime."

The list comes shortly after we revealed the top-20 cars most likely to break the speed limit in Glasgow. 

Figures showed locals who favoured Audi have committed the most speeding offences in the city. 

Speed cameras clocked the German motors breaking the limit in eight out of the top 20 incidents in Greater Glasgow since 2018.
