Part of the Glaisnock Estate is to go up for auction.

Glaisnock House itself is not to be sold, but the mews on the estate are to go under the hammer on Friday, July 17, with a guide price of £125,000.

The land being sold does make up a large portion of the traditional estate and grounds, 11 acres to be precise, comprising woodland area and the listed former stable block with consent for conversion.

The Glaisnock Estate has been a troubled patch in recent times, with countless reports of vandals breaking into the property and starting fires and causing damage to the 19th century mansion house. The most recent report was just last month when fire crews tackled a blaze in the annex of the derelict building.

The plot of land up for sale is said to have been prefviously granted consent for the building of 36 houses and bungalows so any prospective buyer could be looking at a housing development on the plot.

Pre-auction offers are being accepted.
