Major works to B7083 will see road closures for a period of at least twelve days.

The essential road resurfacing works on the B7083 Auchinleck Road, Cumnock will start on Monday, July 20 and last for approximately two weeks.

The work is being conducted by the Ayrshire Roads Alliance, as part of its ongoing programme to improve the condition of the road network.

The Ayrshire Roads Alliance say that to carry out this work safely and efficiently the road will require to be closed daily between 8am and 5pm.

It is anticipated that the works will be undertaken in four phases, with "every effort made to keep within the durations proposed, however dates may need to change as works progress."

Motorists are advised to watch out for the Advance Notification Signage, which will be erected on site with the times and dates of each phased closure.

The phases are as follows:

PHASE 1 - from 8am on Monday, July 20 until 5pm on Wednesday, July 22

B7083 from A70 to Visions Leisure Centre and Holmside from B7083 southwards for 35 metres.

PHASE 2 - from 8am on Thursday, July 23 until 5pm on Friday, July 24.

B7083 from Visions Leisure Centre to the footpath to the north of 20 Auchinleck Road.

PHASE 3 - from 8am on Monday, July 27 until 5pm on Tuesday, July 28.

B7083 from a point 35 metres north of the school entrance to the raised junction at Hoyle Crescent.

PHASE 4 - from 8am on Wednesday, July 29 until 5pm on Friday, July 31.

B7083 from the raised junction at Hoyle Crescent to Rigg Road.

Vehicular access for residents, owners and occupiers within the closures will be permitted to and from their properties, when it is safe to do so and when directed by a traffic marshal.

Emergency access will be maintained during the closures and through the works site. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

A diversion route will be signed via the B7083 Auchinleck, A76 Trunk Road to A70 Ayr Road Cumnock, Tanyard and vice versa.

It is hoped that the resurfacing work will be completed within the timescales stipulated, however the work is weather dependent and any unforeseen difficulties could result in a delay.
