Guns and drugs worth £50,000 have been seized from a Glasgow address. 

One woman, 44, has been arrested and charged in connection with the major recovery in Drumchapel. 

Officers stormed the Tallant Road premises on Friday, July 3 where they found two firearms, ammunition and drugs. 

The vast majority of the drugs seized is understood to be heroin.

The 44-year-old woman is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday. 

Detective Inspector Jim Bradley, based at Baird Street Police Station, said: "We will always proactively target people who are believed to be involved in criminal activity and our enquiries remain ongoing.

"I would encourage people with any information about drug crime or suspicious behaviour in their area that is potentially linked to criminality to contact us on 101.

"Information from the public is important and helps us do our job to protect people and our communities."
