A CUMNOCK funeral director has adapted its fleet of limousines to be COVID ready with protective screens and specialist air filtration devices.

Fosters Family Funeral Directors have made the adaptations for the safety of their staff and the families they serve.

The funeral directors, which has 17 parlours across Scotland including their Cumnock branch on Glaisnock Street, installed protective screens in all of its limousines following the move to phase two of lockdown measures.

Limousines in the fleet have been fitted with Perspex shields. After each use, the limousines are deep cleaned and sterilised, with drivers also wearing masks.

John Brown, operations manager at Fosters Family Funeral Directors, said: “We are proud to re-introduce the use of limousines to our funeral services here in Cumnock and across Scotland. It will allow families to have a traditional funeral procession, and as places of worship begin to re-open we will ensure that our clients can travel to and from the funeral in safety and comfort.

“Allowing families the opportunity to travel together and support each other is very important to help with the grieving process, so any additional comfort we can bring to those suffering a loss is greatly welcomed.”

Fosters say they will adhere to the Scottish Government guidelines, with drivers wearing the necessary PPE, deep cleans of the fleet after each use, no more than six members of the same household within a car, one pick up address and masks and hand sanitisers for passengers.
