St PATRICK’S Primary School held a socially distanced P7 Leavers service this week.

The children had written a piece about their memories of St Patrick’s which they read out for their classmates

They were all were awarded the Pope Francis Faith Award for their work at home, in school and in the local community.

Sam Dunsmuir, Jennifer Gibson and Carley Wallace all received a Gold Award for their effort and hard work in Primary 7 .

Carley Wallace was presented with the Jan Stakim Award for most helpful pupil.

Well done to all the leavers – and good luck in secondary school.

Scotland is in lockdown, shops are closing and newspaper sales are falling fast. We’re not exaggerating when we say that the future of the Cumnock Chronicle, and the vital local news service we’ve provided since 1901 is under threat.

Please consider supporting the Cumnock Chronicle  in whatever way you can – by paying just 90p for a copy of the paper, when you’re shopping for essential supplies for yourself and others, or by subscribing to our e-edition here.

Thanks - and stay safe.
