A FLAG has been raised in support of Armed Forces Day outside East Ayrshire Council HQ.
EAC Chief Executive Fiona Lees was joined by Provost Jim Todd on a dreich Monday (June 22) morning to raise the flag in honour of the Armed Forces community and to “recognise the work they do to protect our interests at home and overseas,” said a council spokesperson.
Armed Forces Day is celebrated every year on the last Saturday in June, this year’s Armed Forces Day will fall on Saturday, June 27. Flags were raised on buildings and famous landmarks up and down the UK in the run up to the event to signal the beginning of the celebrations.
