Catrine residents were out at the weekend sprucing up the town square.

Volunteers and Catrine Community Council braved the weather on Saturday to clear out the planters at Mill Square and filled them with new shrubs and flowers.

Community council vice chair Tam McKinnon said: “Thanks to Bill for caring and storing all the plants for the last year, Billy and Peter the driving force behind this year’s effort and their continual efforts during the past year weeding and caring for existing flower beds, and also Jimmy Kleboe for everything he’s done...

"Massive thanks to the volunteers who came to help today; Anne and Euan Kerr, Jamie Cook and his family, Sandra Adam for her plant arranging skills and Hugh Holland for all their hard work digging, weeding, planting.”
