A TEN-YEAR-OLD purchased essential items for health heroes at Ayr Hospital after she raised her own cash.

Hollie McKinnon, a Primary 6 pupil at Heathfield Primary, set up her own lockdown fitness challenge in a bid to help NHS staff.

The youngster completed 500 steps at home and in doing so raised £130.

She then visited Savers in Ayr to make purchases of handwash, hand gel and toothbrushes to be delivered to Ayr Hospital for key workers.

Savers in Ayr were amazed by Hollie’s generosity.

A spokesperson said: “Today we had Hollie McKinnon to shop for essential goods for Ayr hospital after raising £130 doing 500 steps at home.

“Well done Hollie,we’re super proud of you.”
