Drugs with an estimated street value in excess of £60,000 have been seized in Mauchline.

Police gained entry to a property in Horwood Place, Mauchline under the authority of a Sheriff’s search warrant just after 9.30am on Friday, May 22. 

A quantity of class A controlled drugs believed to be cocaine, were recovered during the search.

A 39-year-old man has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal for alleged offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 including being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug.

East Ayrshire Area Commander, Chief Inspector Steven Meikle said: “Drugs are a blight on society and ruin the lives of too many in our community.

“Our officers are committed to tackling these issues and continue to work with partners and specialist police officers to identify offenders and bring them to justice.

“Action like this would not be possible without the continued support of the public. I encourage anyone with information about those involved in drug dealing to get in contact with their local policing team.”
