East Ayrshire Education staff have taken part in the national campaign Run for Heroes, with all proceeds going to NHS workers fighting COVID-19.

The idea is to run a 5k, donate £5 and then nominate five more people on your social media to run too, as part of a collective effort to raise money for key workers on the frontline of coronavirus.

Head of Education Linda McAuley Griffiths completed the 5k and

said: “I saw this online and as a jogger thought it was a fabulous cause to get behind in this crucial time.

“I would be thrilled if other walkers, joggers and runners wanted to join me and tweet their donations.”

Run for Heroes has just raised its first £1 million with over 200,000 runners taking part in 10 countries.
