EAST Ayrshire Council have vowed to help residents tackle the coronavirus crisis, by setting up an online platform.

The council have launched a new webpage ‘Caring, Kind, Connected’ which will provide the latest updates, as well as connect to the wider communities.

The webpage includes downloadable packs that residents can use to reach out to vulnerable people who are self-isolating, either because they show symptoms of COVID-19, or they are elderly or are high risk.

The council launched the new informative site last week.

Included on the platform is a list of businesses across Cumnock and Doon Valley who are providing a delivery service to residents who are in need to supplies.

We told how Mauchline business, Mossgiel Farm have set up their new delivery service, and they are included in the East Ayrshire wide help database.

Also included in the area is The Store in Muirkirk, Dougie’s Shop in Auchinleck and Stewarts fruit and veg in Dalmellington.

Logan Pharmacy is also included in the list for residents who need medical supplies during the crisis.

Each business listed has their contact details attached.

Also listed is instructions on how communities can get involved to reach out to the most vulnerable.

"We have been overwhelmed and humbled by offers of assistance and support emerging over the last few days, and we'd like to help you."
