A house building company is gearing up to create over 30 jobs - with the deadline to apply just days away.

The Wee House Company, who have recently completed a £3.4m social housing development for North Ayrshire Council, are expanding their factory in Cumnock and looking for more staff to fulfil upcoming contracts.

The firm say the expansion will be a huge boost for the area which has suffered an unemployment rate of double the UK average in previous years.

It’s also good news for Caponacre Industrial Estate, which has benefitted from a much-needed boost by the recent factory expansion investment.

Managing Director of The Wee House Company, Jennifer Higgins, said: “The housebuilding industry continues to grow and is strengthened by the demand for housing as well as the Scottish Government’s commitment to building 50,000 affordable homes by 2021.

“It’s a key driver in local economic growth; not only providing employment opportunities but also providing much needed housing in the community.

“Our construction experience puts us at the forefront of modular build innovations and we design, build and deliver homes quickly and efficiently.

“I’m excited about the future plans for the Wee House Company and we’re delighted at the initial response to our recruitment launch.”

Positions include Joiners, Joiner’s Mates, Apprentice Joiners, Factory Operatives and a Quality Assurance Inspector.

Closing date for all positions is Saturday, March 21 2020 so if you haven’t applied get in quick.
