A CONCERT set to go ahead this month has been cancelled due to the coronavirus fears.
The Annual Fiddlers’ Concert set to take place at Troon Concert Hall has been postponed due to concerns over “large gatherings”.
The event organised by Troon Rotary Club was set to go ahead on Saturday, March 21.
But due to the public health concerns sparked by the virus, the Rotary Club have decided to call off the event.
It comes as the first Ayrshire case of the bug was confirmed earlier this week.
The total amount of cases of the COVID-19 strain in Scotland is currently six.
The UK Government announced they were going into a second ‘delay’ phase as they ramp up precautions to control the spread of the virus.
A spokesperson for Troon Rotary Club told the Advertiser: “Unfortunately due to current concerns over Coronavirus and large gatherings, Troon Rotary Club’s popular Annual Fiddlers‘ Concert, due to be held on March 21 at Troon Concert Hall has been postponed.
“Tickets will of course be reimbursed and Troon Rotary plan to reorganise the event as soon as public health concerns have been addressed. While we appreciate that many will be disappointed, the decision is in the interest of both participants and spectators.”
