NORTH Ayrshire Council have confirmed they will not play host to the cancelled Scottish International Airshow.
Organisers confirmed they were having to axe the much-loved airshow on Sunday at the end of a turbulent week in which South Ayrshire Council pulled the plug on essential funding, worth £250,000.
Now NAC have confirmed they would not be able to step in and hold the spectacle which was set to go ahead across three days in September.
It has been reported that aeroplanes were all set ready for displays, before organisers had to cancel the show.
The Scottish International Airshow have approached the council over switching the show to North Ayrshire but have been knocked back.
A North Ayrshire Council spokesperson said: “We were contacted by the event organisers about potentially getting involved in the Air Show.
"However, we are not in a position to support this year’s event at such short notice.”
