CUMNOCK Academy pupils were among more than 50 children from schools all over Ayrshire who attended the third curling ‘come and try’ event at Ayr Ice Rink, writes Stewart McConnell.
This gave children with additional support needs the chance to try curling. The event is always popular in the calendar of come and try and competitive events. Volunteers were Ayrshire college students and coaches from the curling club. It was organised by Ayrshire Sportsability and Scott Andrews, Curling Development Officer for Ayr Ice Rink and 2014 Winter Olympics silver medal winner.
