St John’s Primary School held a Parents Game Day this week.

Parents were invited to the school to play a variety of games with kids. The games were designed to engage the children and to make learning fun.

Games included learning new Scottish words. Picture cards were given to kids and parents to exchange with funny phrases and sayings on them such as ‘braw’, ‘weesht’, ‘auld’ and ‘fankle’.

Both school pupils and their parents thoroughly enjoyed the day and left with a bit more knowledge of the Scottish dialect.

Our photographer Charlie Gilmour was there on the day to capture the fun.
