Vibrant communities are celebrating LGBT History Month by sharing the experiences of the LGBT community in East Ayrshire.
Members of the LGBT community have been bravely sharing snippets of their positive coming out stories across social media.
Louisa McEvoy, Community Work Assistant at East Ayrshire Council, said: “We like to do something every year to mark LGBT History Month but this year we decided to utilise our social media platforms to spread a message of awareness around LGBT issues.
“Every day we will post a fact or an inspiring quote related to the LGBT Community as well as personal coming out stories.
“We will conclude History Month with a poem written by one of the founding members of the LGBT Youth Group, Laiken, who sadly passed away four years ago.
“The main thing for LGBT people is having visibility. The social media campaign is sure to have an impact.”
