Auchinleck pupils have been encouraging their peers that it’s okay to talk about mental health.
Mental Health Champions at Auchinleck Academy have been hard at work getting the message across to pupils that it’s okay to talk about their mental health problems and that it’s okay for anyone struggling to reach out.
Pupils at the school have been holding discussions on questioning why mental health problems are increasing in children and young people, and asking why suicide is currently the leading cause of death in men over 45.
This is part of See Me Scotland’s Time To Talk campaign, which asks whether pupils would rather be stuck in a spider’s web, or talk to a friend who feels trapped in their thoughts.
