A military exercise could lead to increased traffic later this month in East and South Ayrshire.
The Ministry of Defence will be conducting what is described as "a low level exercise" in the Galloway Forest Area between Friday, February 21, and Sunday, February 23.
The exercise will involved some vehicle activity both in Ayrshire and in Dumfries and Galloway.
In particular, there might be increased traffic on the Straiton to Glentrool road.
There will be activity in Drumjohn, south of Dalmellington, and Shalloch, south of Straiton.
Other areas effected will be Roundfell and the A712 Drigmorn/Fleet basin.
