THE Cumnock Tryst are set to host their second ever music club special performance.
On Saturday, January 18 they will host their second ever Cumnock Tryst Music Club concert at the Dumfries Arms Hotel.
Performing will be Glasgow’s brilliant Knox and Ion Duo.
The Tryst group spoke to them about their backgrounds in music, how they came to perform together and what they will perform for Cumnock audiences in the new year.
The group said said: “We’ll be playing a mixture of our favourite jazz standards and a cheeky wee pop number and some of our own original compositions.”
“We will be performing a mixture of our own material and jazz standards.
“Our own material is rooted in the jazz idiom with a massive dose of Latin American music and a pinch of Scottish.
James MacMillan said: “It has always been a goal of the Cumnock Tryst to have a year-round presence in the local area and it has been clear from the fantastic suppor t from the local community and from further afield that the appetite is there for music-making throughout the year.”
