A FIVE-year-old schoolgirl did Auchinleck proud after bringing home five first palace trophies in one weekend.

Codi Wallace is one of the youngest members of Fusion Dance who travelled down to Scarborough to compete in the East of England ‘EPIC’ Championships 2019.

She was thrilled to scoop multiple trophies for the squad who all together raked in a whopping 112 trophies, 23 medals and 10 Championship titles back to Ayrshire.

Codi is also the only student who has qualified to dance in the prestigious Disco Kid finals in Blackpool Tower Ballroom earlier this month.

The pupils aged four-16, trained for weeks prior to the Championship event, competed in Solo, Slow, Pairs, Trios and Team events and had their hard work paid off.

The Under 12 Team took first place in the team event in their first year competing for the title while the Adult Team also took first place, holding their title for the forth year in a row.

Two of the schools stage pupils have also gained recognition by successfully auditioning alongside 105 other young dancers to be picked to perform in this years Palace Theatres Christmas Pantomime ‘Cinderella’ junior ensemble.

Brooke Wallace,10, and Eilidh Pirrie,13,were also successful in auditioning.

Principal teacher Libby Graham Wallace said: “The kids all worked extremely hard in the lead up to the EPIC competition, I couldn’t have asked for any more. I am so proud of each and every one of them. A great weekend was had by all and the trophies were just the icing on the cake! We are all delighted with our wee schools success. The school has had another fantastic year in both our competitive and stage branches.

Eleace and I are forever grateful for the support and loyalty of our pupils, parents and our extended Fusion family”
