CATRINE Primary pupils were thrilled to welcome an iconic painting to their school.

Youngsters were delighted to be presented with an original painting of Catrine Mill, created by the members of the Art in Action Group in Catrine.

The painting depicts the Old Mill in Catrine, and was drawn by Mr William Murdoch and painted by members of the Art Group, which meets in the AM Brown Institute every Thursday from 1pm-3pm.

As an iconic part of Catrine’s industrial history, the painting of the Old Mill will be proudly displayed in the Primary School, and the school is very grateful for such a kind and thoughtful gesture.
