After making his list and checking it twice, Santa is set to arrive at Dumfries House aboard his sleigh this weekend.

Accompanied by his trusty elves and local carol singers, Santa will arrive on the 2000-acre estate at 2pm on Sunday, November 24, to open his grotto for the 2018 festive season.

Visitors are expected to welcome St Nicholas by flanking the route of the sleigh from the front steps of the main house to the estate’s Coach House Café.

Al fresco hot chocolate and mince pies will be on sale to keep everyone warm, with the gathering set to conclude at around 4.30pm.

Louis MacCallum, director of commercial for The Prince’s Foundation at Dumfries House, said: “Christmas is always magical at Dumfries House. This year, we’d like to welcome people from the local community along to watch as Santa arrives aboard his sleigh surrounded by elves and carol singers.”

Dumfries House estate was saved for the nation by HRH The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, in 2007. It now operates as an events venue, tourist attraction and education hub, offering young people the opportunity to engage in learning experiences that promote confidence, personal development and training in real life skills.

Santa’s Grotto, which is located next to the Coach House Cafe at Dumfries House, will be open on selected dates in the coming weeks. Tickets can be purchased online via the Dumfries House website at www.dumfries-house.org.uk.
