A FUNDRAISING folk night in support of West Kilbride Yuletide is taking place on Friday, November 15 in the Barony.
The annual Yuletide Night relies on the support of the organisers, local community and businesses. This year’s event, on Friday, December 6, is expected to cost around £5,500.
Campbell Stirrat, treasurer at West Kilbride Yuletide Group, said: “We install, replace, and maintain the Christmas lights and organise Yuletide Night. These activities enhance the attractions of the village at Christmas time. But they cost a lot of money.
“We think that it is in the interest of all villagers, whether businesses or inhabitants, to maintain the image of West Kilbride as a healthy thriving village, and it is completely worth the effort. We also hold various fundraising events, the next one being a folk night in the Barony.
"As well as being a fun evening, it helps ensure that the 2019 West Kilbride Yuletide Festival is a success and helps secure its future in the years ahead.”
The folk night starts at 7.30pm and is BYOB. Tickets are £10 and include the entertainment, a hot pie and soft drink.
