The night sky above Saltcoats was a dazzling explosion of colour at this year’s fireworks display.

Thousands of people turned up to enjoy the funfair and spectacular display at the harbour on Sunday, November 3.

Cousins Aliyah and Ellie Morrison pressed the button for blast-off at 7.30pm.

Organiser Jim Montgomerie told the Herald: “It was absolutely fantastic, another absolute success. Everyone turned out in their droves and supported it. It was a great display.

“It was mobbed, there were thousands of people there. I was blessed with the weather. That’s 12 years I’ve been doing it and it’s only rained once, which is fantastic, especially for November.

“I want to thank Saltcoats Police, the coastguard, everybody for attending, everybody who gave sponsorship money, the two girls Aliyah and Ellie, and the council.

“A special thanks to the Saltcoats, Ardrossan and Stevenston branch of the Royal British Legion. They were a massive support.”
