A SALTCOATS couple have celebrated their Diamond Wedding Anniversary.
William and Irene [nee Howie] Hogarth marked 60 years of marriage on October 29. William, 91, grew up in Saltcoats and 88-year-old Irene is originally from Kilwinning. They married at Kilwinning Abbey Church in 1959.
William said: “I was a farmer and there were farmers dances – we met at one and that was it.”
William and Irene have a son and a daughter, two grandsons, three great-grandchildren and another two on the way. The couple celebrated their special anniversary with a meal at Seamill House Hotel. They also had a party at William’s childhood home, a farmhouse in Saltcoats, where his sister still lives.
Congratulations!
