Volunteers are needed to help with an upcoming project by East Ayrshire Coalfield Environment Initiative.
A peatland scrub and Sitka bashing event is taking place on Saturday, December 7 from 10am-3pm at a location to be confirmed.
And volunteers will get the added bonus of getting to harvest their own Christmas tree.
A spokesperson for EACI said: “Help us tackle some of the issues of scrub and conifer encroachment that threatens our bogs.
“This can be physically demanding, yet highly rewarding work. A degree of fitness will be important as we are crossing wet, uneven terrain. Please bring wellies, waterproofs, warm clothes, and a packed lunch and drink. Should be lots of fun.”
