AN AUCHINLECK business has been selected as a finalist for two Scottish Apprenticeship awards.

EGGER has been nominated for promoting diversity SME Employer of the Year award and the SME Employer of the Year Award.

The company is a modern chipboard and wood recycling plant which employs more than 100 people, many of whom are from the area.

Now in its 18th year, the Scottish Apprenticeship Awards bring together apprentices, employers and learning providers to celebrate the contributions apprenticeships make to the economy.

EGGER will join the 24 other finalists at a grand ceremony on November 7 in Dundee’s Caird Hall.

One individual will be named Scotland’s Apprentice of the Year 2019.

Large and SME employers will also be recognised for their commitment to apprenticeships, and for their efforts to promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace through apprenticeships.
