YOUNGSTERS are tackling litter head on after a new pilot was successful in other East Ayrshire primary schools.
Newmilns Primary is adopting the Litter in Schools initiative to keep communities tidy and set a good example for the kids.
It comes after students in Galston tested the project and learned how important it was to look after the environment.
Councillor Cogley said: “Environmental issues are high on the agenda at the moment, particularly among young people. The purpose of these events is to make youngsters aware that they do have a choice and that their actions can make a huge difference.”
