A CAR was written off after a collision with a lorry near Muirkirk this morning.
Emergency services rushed to the scene on the A70 between Muirkirk and Cronberry around 8.55am.
A male driver of the car was taken to Ayr hospital.
The road remains closed as police carry out enquiries.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 8.55am this morning, police were called to attend an RTC involving two vehicles.
“The road was closed, and emergency services attended.
“A man has been taken to Ayr hospital.”
The road remains closed at this time.
