THE community in Mauchline have been reflecting on their games hall - a week after it shut down for good.

Members of the centre have taken a trip down memory lane as they dug out old photographs to remember the hall in its hey day.

The games hall closed its doors for good on Monday, September 30, as emotional residents said their goodbyes.

Now we look back at the iconic hall in its prime and it’s achievements.

This has included 67 national champions, 15 British champion and 43 Scottish Schools champions, which is a massive achievement for such a small village club.

But none of that would be possible without the dedicated volunteers who made it all possible.

‘The soul of Mauchline Games Hall’ has been put down to Tommy, Margaret and Mo who spent hours and hours making sure the kids really benefitted from the facility.

At the goodbye event members played games for the last time and celebrated good memories that were created thanks to these selfless workers.

They even raised hundreds of pounds for Cancer Research in memory of Morag who sadly passed away after battling the disease.

Player Adam Hall said: “We raised over £700 pounds for cancer so that was really nice gesture.

“It was really nice but was a strange day, we were all gutted that it be the last day there so there was a real mixture at the club.”
