A MAN has been arrested for allegedly driving a motorcycle while drunk in Catrine.

The 51-year-old man was charged by officers for riding the motorcycle while allegedly over the legal alcohol limit.

He had no helmet or valid licence and was allegedly found with drugs in his possession.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "We will continue to target those concerned in the production, sale or supply of controlled drugs.

"We will report those found in possession of controlled drugs to the Procurator Fiscal and work with partners on both education and enforcement."

It comes after we told you how a man died in a horror crash after losing control of his motorcycle near Dalmellington.

The 53-year-old was travelling on the A713 south of Mossdale Farm at around 5pm when he struck a fence and came off the vehicle.

Two motorcyclists, one understood to be from Cumnock, were also killed when a westbound blue Yamaha and a black Yamaha travelling east, collided on the A73 near Lanark.

Now police are cracking down to make sure drivers are safe and have a zero tolerance to road recklessness.
