Police in East Ayrshire launched a new operation last week focusing on the sudden increase of housebreaking and vehicle crime in the area.
The operation began last Monday, with the introduction of additional officers for Operation Stickrail – which is to support local officers to target those involved in this type of crime.
Chief Inspector Steven Meikle, Local Area Commander for East Ayrshire, said: “Housebreaking and vehicle related crime can be particularly distressing and have a devastating impact on victims.
“I would encourage anyone with concerns about crime in their area to contact us.”
To report crime or suspicious activity call Police Scotland on 101.
In an emergency, always dial 999.
