A MAN was due to appear in court after he was arrested following a drugs bust in Catrine.

The 43-year-old Auchinleck man has been arrested and charged by police following the recovery of alleged class A drugs.

The arrest took place at 1pm on Wednesday, September 25 in Ford Street.

The man was held in police custody to appear at court in relation to possession with intent to supply a controlled drug and a full report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Chief Inspector Steven Meikle, Area Commander in East Ayrshire, said: “We are committed to tackling issues of local concern and to working with local people to identify and take action against those who are intent on causing harm to local communities.

“The supply and misuse of drugs has been highlighted as a top concern by local people and is a key priority for policing in the area. This arrest should offer reassurance that we will act on the information provided to us and I would encourage anyone with any concerns about crime in their area to contact us.”
