WOMEN who feel cheated out their pension are celebrating a new pledge of support.
The Liberal Democrats have now backed the Women Against State Pension Inequality (WASPI) Campaign by vowing to support 1950s born women.
The group are working to help women who have suffered financial hardship due to a lack of notice of changes to their State Pension age.
The motion states that the Liberal Democrats will ensure WASPI women are “properly compensated for the failure of government to properly notify them of changes to the state pension age.”
WASPI continue to work across parties in Parliament to seek fair transitional arrangements for women affected and are calling on other parties to adopt similar policies on WASPI to ensure that these women are given the compensation they deserve.
