A CUMNOCK dog rescue charity were left stunned after being given hundred’s of pounds to help the animals.
Auchinleck Community Development Initiative recently donated £500 to Islay Dog Rescue, a charity based just outside Cumnock, dedicated to helping dogs who have found themselves in dog pounds, specifically those who are on ‘death row’.
ACDI’s team of volunteers raised the money by holding raffles at various community events throughout the past year.
The team at ACDI were delighted to have the passionate Lorraine Jardine come along to a recent CommuniTea to accept the cheque. Lorraine was accompanied by Michelle Murray, a volunteer at Islay Dog Rescue, who brought along Ruby the dog. Many residents from local care homes who had come along to the reminiscence-themed CommuniTea and they loved having the opportunity to meet and pet Ruby.
Lorraine shared her gratitude for the donation, which will cover half of her organisations vets bills for a month.
