Local families and visitors from far and wide enjoyed another hugely successful Cumnock Highland Games.
A feature of this years’ Games at Woodroad Park was the first 10k road run, which saw almost 100 runners take part.
Chieftain Stewart Birrel said: “This is the 14th Cumnock Highland Games and it was a proud moment for me, as a local man born and bred, to act as Chieftain and to spend a wonderful afternoon representing my home town and meeting so many people, many of whom were old friends and many of whom were visiting the town for the first time.”
The Rev John Paterson, Organising Committee chairman, added: “Any public event, especially an event on the scale of the Highland Games, depends entirely on the support of local people, businesses and other organisations to make them possible. On behalf of the organising committee I extend a sincere thank you to everyone who made the Games possible.”
