A CUMNOCK Juniors fan was given fist aid by a local rivals physio after he collapsed ahead of kick off.

The elderly fan fainted at Loch Park on Saturday just before the 3pm kick off against New Cumnock’s Glenafton.

Glens physio Michelle McInnes and club secretary John Stewart raced to help the man who was struggling as temperatures pitch side soared.

After carrying out first aid an ambulance was called to provide further assistance.

The man was then checked over by paramedics before being allowed to go home.

John told the Chronicle: “He (the fan) took a wee turn, he just collapsed on the terrace. It was just before kick off, everything was sorted, Michelle put him into the recovery position and the ambulance was really quick in getting there. We just hope everything is okay.”
