MAJOR glory was celebrated by Auchinleck Bowling Club at Scottish Bowling’s premier event last week.
Claire Johnston and Hannah Smith clinched gold medal success at the Bowls Scotland National Championships at Northfield.
The Auchinleck duo hit top form in the flagship event and were victorious in the Ladies Pairs competition.
They competed brilliantly throughout the week at the Ayr venue and coasted into the latter stages of the event.
Claire and Hannah defeated Uphall Station in the semi-final and then clinched the gold medal with a win against South-West Scotland rivals Dumfries.
This is yet another highpoint for Claire, who won a gold medal at the World Indoor Bowling Championships at Yarmouth in 2017.
The victorious duo also featured in the Scotland team who competed in the International Series at Lex Creux Bowling Club in Jersey last month.
They will be hoping to build on this latest success and also to enjoy yet more successes in the weeks and months ahead after proving they can mix it with the best players from across the country.
