CUMNOCK and Doon Valley commuters have been expressing their anger at the amount of road works around East Ayrshire, as the A70 main road from Cumnock to Ayr was closed last weekend.
Part of the road from Coalhall Rail Bridge to the substation near West Tarelgin Farm was being resurfaced as part of a seven-million-pound investment from East Ayrshire Council.
Residents took to Twitter with mixed opinions, with one calling the diversions ‘shambolic’ and another praising the investment.
East Ayrshire Council’s Chief Executive, Fiona Lees went on Twitter to thank drivers for their ‘patience and forbearance’ as the works continue around the area.
