WITH the sun splitting the skies, people turned out in good numbers for a successful Community Fun Day and Football Festival organised by Cumnock Juniors at Townhead Park on Sunday, writes Stewart McConnell.

A whole host of attractions were organised and appealed to people of all ages.

The seven-a-side football tournament proved a big hit and was won by Nithside Wanderers. whose captain Scott Fleming received the trophy from Cumnock Juniors Club Secretary Jamie Campbell.

Congratulations go to talented young footballer Rhys Galloway, who won the keepy-uppy challenge with an incredible 193.

Among the main attractions were a food stall, beat the goalie, shows, stalls, football challenges, face painting and a seven-a-side tournament plus loads more.

People of all ages flocked to the ground for the ever-popular event, which is one of the top attractions in the Summer and will help boost the coffers of Cumnock FC.

Thanks go to everyone for supporting it plus the countless volunteers behind the scenes who helped ensure the event ran smoothly.
