A BODY has been discovered at a farm in the search for a missing East Ayrshire man.

Greg Campbell, 27, vanished from Kilmarnock yesterday at around 9am sparking a frantic search to find him.

He was last seen at around 9.05am on Wednesday 5 June 2019 at his mother’s home in Hemphill View.

His family were left 'extremely worried' at his disappearance and he was going through a very 'difficult' time.

Now they have been told by police the devastating news that the body they found at a farm near Kilmaurs at 9.50am this morning is believed to be Greg.

It is understood there is no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A police spokesperson said: "Around 9.50 pm on Wednesday 5 June 2019 the body of a man was found at a farm near Kilmaurs, Kilmarnock.

"The body is believed to be that of 27 year-old Greg Campbell who was reported missing from Kilmarnock and last seen around 9 am on Wednesday 5 June 2019. The family have been made aware.

"There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
