Police are desperately searching for a teenager who only moved to East Ayrshire last week.

Simba Pemhenai was last seen in Kilmaurs at around 2.30 yesterday afternoon.

Police are now frantically searching for the 15-year-old schoolboy after he recently moved up to Scotland from Liverpool.

Police Scotland is appealing for information to help trace a 15-year-old boy, Simba Pemhenai, who has been missing from Kilmaurs in East Ayrshire, since yesterday, Wednesday, 15 May 2019.

Simba, who moved to the area just over a week ago, was last seen in the village around 2.30 pm yesterday afternoon.

He is described as black, 5ft 3 in height of slim/medium build with short black hair and brown eyes.

When last seen he was wearing grey jogging bottoms, a grey t-shirt with an American flag logo on the front and black Nike trainers with a green tick.

He was also carrying a black backpack and may have a grey parka-style jacket.

Chief Inspector Gillian Docherty, East Ayrshire Area Commander, said:

“Simba, who is originally from The Wirral, near Liverpool, is new to both Ayrshire and Scotland having only moved here a short time ago.

"We believe he may have travelled back to either Merseyside or possibly London but that has still to be confirmed. We have been liaising with colleagues in these force areas as well as with British Transport Police and bus operators in an effort to trace him, however, to date there have been no further sightings of him.

"I would be grateful if people keep a look out for him particularly around transport hubs and report any possible sightings of him to police.

"Police Scotland can be contacted by calling 101. Please quote reference number 2270 of the 15 May 2019 when calling. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted in confidence on 0800 555 111."
