A TEENAGER has been arrested and charged for allegedly shining a laser pen at a search and rescue helicopter.
It comes after a laser pen was allegedly pointed at a chopper in January 2019 that had been flying over Sanquhar.
A 17-year-old boy from the town has now been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
The aircraft was flying between Newcastle and Prestwick and police believe the alleged attack may have come from the Forsyth Avenue area.
Constable Douglas Black said in a statement at the time: "We would urge people in possession of these types of device not to misuse them in this manner and remind people that matters such as this are taken very seriously by both Police Scotland and Scottish Courts Service."
