NHS Ayrshire and Arran desperate for volunteers to help tidy a local hospital.
Ailsa Hospital’s Acorn Furniture Workshops are hosting a Helping Hands Day on Saturday 11 May 2019.
The event is open to everyone and will involve revamping the grounds of the facility.
George Nish, Senior Charge Nurse, explains: “The day is open to all staff, patients and members of the local community who would like to help tidy the gardens in the grounds of the hospital and maintain these relaxing and therapeutic places for everyone to enjoy.
“A range of activities including digging, weeding, planting and general tidying will be on offer. There will also be the opportunity to get involved in small projects as part of a team and paint garden furniture, bird boxes, and outbuildings – and possibly even begin to build some raised flowerbeds.”
Registration will take place at 9.30am and a Tai Chi session will help loosen limbs for the day ahead. A light lunch, fresh fruit and refreshments will be available throughout the day, which will end at around 3.30pm.
To register your interest or for more information please email George Nish George.Nish@aapct.scot.nhs.uk or William McInnes William.McInnes@aapct.scot.nhs.uk or telephone the Furniture Workshops on 01292 513066.
