PRIMARY pupils where visited by an acclaimed Scottish children’s author from Ayrshire at Cumnock Library.
Greenmill Primary and Barshare Primary gathered round Angela Proctor, author of the enchanting Thumble Tumble adventure series set on the Isle of Arran.
It comes as Barshare Primary are going to be the first school in East Ayrshire to use her new Thumble Tumble Teaching Pack.
The new pack was created by education professionals to meet the current Curriculum for Excellence and is being donated by Angela to every primary school in Scotland.
As well as championing libraries Angela has also recently commissioned the first Thumble Tumble Teaching Pack, specifically created to meet the objectives and outcomes set out in the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence.
It is now being issued as a free teaching resource.
Angela said: “I was once again impressed by the impeccable manners and warm welcome shown by children from Cumnock.
"The children of Greenmill really threw themselves into the session eager to answer all of my questions so they could get involved in the ‘imagination challenge’.
"A brilliantly disguised potion to vanquish an evil giant! Talent was in abundance all day.
"You must be extremely proud of your children - I know I was!”
