POLICE are urging residents to lock their doors after a spate of break-ins in the area.

A house was burgled in Patna after a robber snuck in through an unlocked door between 11pm and 2am before swiping items from inside the property.

Cops are now hunting the culprit and have launched an investigation into the incident which happened on Dalharco Avenue on February 21.

The incident comes after a property in Cumnock was also robbed as a thief stole items of jewellery with significant sentimental value.

The robber forced entry to the house in Glaisnock Street between 7am and 5.45pm on February 8.

In a separate incident, on the same day, a toolbox was taken from a garden in Auchinleck.

Expensive equipment, including specialist security apparatus, cameras, cables and hand tools were taken.

The goods are worth around £600 and were taken in an early morning raid at Murray Court in Cumnock in the early hours of February 11.

A man wearing a black woollen hat and gloves, light scarf and a white top is now a suspect.

PC Adams is investigating the robbery which took place.

In a similar incident a quantity of hand tools were stolen from a garden in Park Road in Auchinleck.

The incident occurred sometime between 8pm on Wednesday, February 6 and 8.30am on Thursday, February 7.

PC Craig Marshall said: “We will continue to use intelligence and forensics to identify, target and ar res t individuals suspected to be involved in housebreaking.

“We will patrol relevant areas to prevent, deter and detect crimes of dishonesty.”
