THIEVES have taken a quantity of hand tools from a garden in Auchinleck.
The incident occurred sometime between 8pm on Wednesday, February 6 and 8.30am on Thursday, February 7 in the rear garden of a property on Park Road. Police are appealing for information and have asked anyone who may have seen something suspicious to contact PC McAndrew at Cumnock Police Station on 101, quoting incident number 0845 of February 7.
They have also not ruled out that the incident may be linked to reports of two men acting suspiciously in the garden of a property on Highhouse, Auchinleck on the same night. An elderly resident contacted police after spotting the pair at around 1am on February 7.
The two white men were in the garden shed but made off upon being disturbed.
The first man is described as being 5ft 10in tall and wearing a red baseball cap and dark jacket and the second is described as 5ft 8in tall and wearing a light grey hoodie with the hood up.
Anyone with any information is also asked to contact PC McAndrew and quote incident number 0095 of February 7.
